Did you mean:

what does it mean when the Active light on the GPIB-USB-HS is turned off?

Is that mean no instruments are connected? But they are connected according to MAX. However, having trouble seeing instruments when using "VISA resource name" or "VISA Find Resource". Appreciate any insight into these.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Running LV 2010 32bit on Win7 with VISA 5.0.

Albert,

Thanks for the reply.

More about my system. I got all Agilent equipment hooked up, but I do not have the Agilent IO Library installed. It's a big file that if I use I'll have to deploy with my system hence I'm trying to avoid it and go with all NI software stuff except for the hardware of course.

I read somewhere in the forum that I need to install the Agilent IO library. Is that the case?

Thnaks again.

Hi

I'm glad you did not install the agilent IOlib. Wrong reason but if you are programming in LabVIEW you should not install this.

Use VISA and for the most Agilent instruments drivers are available from NI.
