visual basic+gpib+hp3458A

hi,
i want to comunicate with the hp 3458 to acuare data in to excel. what is the best way of doing that?
i have tried the example that comes with the 488.2 but they didn't work i get difrent err. masges on the constns and varibales.

any help welcom

ps: i use vb 6.0 and i don't use labview or muserment studio.

I think the best way is to download VXIPNP or IVI driver and after that add this driver to your VB 6.0 application as reference.

Also you need check a comunication between PC and DMM by using NI MAX.

hi!

I am also doing the same project right now and i am a starter for it yet. the project is to measure voltage and resistances from an HP3458A DMM using VB 6.

The GUI should be simple, you could see the readings of the DMM in the textbox of your VB form. the thing is, were would i start. I already had the GPIB interface board

mounted inside the PC and the NI-488.2 and VISA driver were  already installed. how would i make the program? do i need the .dlls of the hp3458a or should i make one

myself or is there one available already? Please... need anyones help. thanks!
