usb-gpib driver - does it exist???

I have Labview on a laptop and a Panametrics NDT5800 connected to it using a USB-GPIB cable. THe USB port is at the laptop end and the GPIB port at the NDT5800 end. I can not see the NDT5800 from the laptop. I have installed the NI driver which came with the cable and there were no options for USB-GPIB, only options for GPIB-USB. How do I send and receive data using this system?

To my recollection, National Instruments has never manufactured a product called the USB-GPIB. We have had the GPIB-USB, GPIB-USB-A, GPIB-USB-B, and now the GPIB-USB-HS. Are you sure this is a National Instruments product? Do you have the assembly number or partnumber from the device? It will be in the format of "183001C-02".

Thanks,
Scott B.

Scott,
After talking with your support I have figured out how to talk to my device using the USB-GPIB cable. It is indeed called a GPIB-USB-HS cable and it seems that when I uninstalled the driver and re-installed it without the device attached the problem was solved.
Many thanks,
Pam
