ne-50x push button example

I am trying to run the ne-50X push button example.vi ; however, I keep getting an error at the firmware  This example came with the ne-50x instrument driver I downloaded from the national instruments website. I am trying to figure out what I should type in the firmware box or what string should I feed into the firmware vi.

Firmware version is an indicator so you don't have to type anything in.  It should read back the firmware version you have on the instrument.

It seems this driver was tested with the model NE501 and firmware version V3.5

Hey S.Wright,

jjp is correct in that the firmware is read from the device which is why this is an indicator instead of a control. Do you know what firmware the device is running? We test all of the NI Certified drivers on www.ni.com/idnet with a specific firmware revision that is listed in the readme.html file that is shipped with the driver. If an instrument vendor changes the device firmware, however, then there is no guarantee that the device will respond exactly as expected.
