make install on suse linux 10 cannot compile nikal.c to nikal.o source & gcc ok

Hi Jason

No I have NOT been using 64 bit suse! I only tried this out of frustration.

I will now try 9.1 suse.

I have access to many computers.

We  use KDE. Are you using Gnome?

Hi Ian,

We have tested the driver to work with 32 bit SuSE 10.0.  I had recommended that you try it on a clean, standard install of SuSE 10.0, have you tried this?  This is to be sure that there aren't any old conflicting drivers or anything.

We also support SuSE 10.1.

Hi Jason

Please accept my heartfelt appology!

I have accidentally downloaded Ver 2.3 of GPIB Software, renamimg it Ver 2.5!!!

The 2.5 Software installs (nearly) flawlessly!

There are a number of points however:

  1. The Licence Display Hangs. Easily fixed I know..........
  2. Exactly the same USB / Inline  fault was fixed , in Ver 2.3 using suse 10 by  Rosholm. See the Thread.

I hope this does not put you off answering these threads!

Yours A very Red Ian A Peden
