i/o assistant

Hello, I have connected power supply to pc via GPIB. But, When i use i/o assistant, no instrument is visible.. only port com1, com2 and lpt1. can you let me know what can i do? thanks a lot, Martin

What type of GPIB controller are you using. If it's an NI one, did you test it in MAX and do a scan for instruments?

I have pci card -agilent 82350. It is correctly installed in win xp. also i can browse my gpib device-power source with embeded program - Agilent IO Control. Sorry but I dont know MAX.

You problem is that you thought things would work better with an Agilent GPIB board instead of one from NI.

In order for LabVIEW to recognize the agilent board, you are going to have to install NI-VISA and enable tulip support, I believe. There may be some other things necessary. Search the forum for Agilent GPIB or search for the model number. There have been numerous posts on this subject and several knowledge base articles on it.
