Is it possible to acquire the measured data from an HP8751A?

We have a National Instruments GPIB-USB_HS cable.

Do we need software and drivers to acquire the measured data?

What programming language are you using?

I have controlled instruments without using instrument drivers. In generaly, I don't use them.

In general it is a good idea to start with an instrument driver when available.

You can also do a lot of assembly or write your own operating system.
