It's been four years since I work with PCI-GPIB boards.

IIRC, I looked in Windows Device Manager, found the 'yellow' uninstalled PCI device. Right-click/Properties. Here one is able to find the PCI Device ID.

Now look through the National Instruments Windows INF files, in Windows/System/INF (IIRC). They will not be readily marked, one has to do a search for National that they will probably be OEMxxx.INF.

Finding the ID in the INF file then identifies the name of the driver for the specific GPIB board.

Go back to Device Manager, right click on 'yellow' uninstalled PCI device, (re)install driver using the manual installation, not the automatic.

This is the best I can remember on how I corrected the bad driver installation.
