If it's 8 bits How can I acquire a string ( I don't Know if it's the name ) of 16 bits... I know that I have to split the string but how??? somebody can help me?
Another question is: when the ubs port acquire information it give me in what format? it's a string? Can I work with this strings or I have to convert to array...please I need this information...

What is the USB device you are trying to get data from? One of NI's USB data acquisition devices or something else? What function are you using to read? If the device is a USBTMC class, then you are probably using VISA Read and that returns data as a string. If you have a USBRAW device, then you are probably using VISA USB Control In for a USB pipe transfer and the data read is an array of U8.

Hi Diego,
I saw you had a problem with a communication between a micorcontroller and PC trough a USB. Have you find a solution for this matter? I'm in the same condition, and I don't understand if it is possible to establish a communication via USB. I had a .vi in which I establish a comunication between LabView and microcontroller via RS232, but now I must work with a PC without rs232, so I've tried a USB-rs232 converter but it seem to work not well, in particular with high communication speed. So I'd like to know if I can do the same work with USB....please help me!!!:womansad: Smiley Sad

Thanks

Cristina

If you are using NI-VISA then you should have no problems communicating to your instrument. Infact you should be able to use the same vi that was working with straight RS232 communication and just change the port of communication. VISA will communicate threw either method.
