best hardware to use

I need to know the best hardware to use to change speed of fan by PWM in labView.  I am using a generic three-wire 60mm fan to do this.

Are you just looking for a Digital Output type interface to generate the pulse train? If so, you can post the frequency and voltage requirements to the Digital IO forum and they should be able to help.

xavier,

Without knowing the particulars of your application, the most likely fit is the PCI-6601 or PCI-6602.  They are both PCI Counter / Timer boards that can generate continuous pulses with a user defined PWM.  Using the DAQmx drivers (that come with the card) you can control and adjust the PWM in LabVIEW.  The only difference between the two devices is the number of counters that each have.  Take a look at these two devices and let us know if you have any requirements that you are concerned about.

Also if you were hoping to have adjustable PWM output with other functionality like Analog I/0 or Digital I/0, our M-Series DAQ devices have the same PWM functionality that I spoke of before plus Analog and Digital I/O.

Jeff
