Using VISA to set Listen-Only Mode

I've been successful using ver 2.1 of NI488 functions for enabling the interface card for 'Listen-Only'. Is it possible to use VISA to do the same thing?
Thanks..

Hey rfdes,

Unfortunately, I don't believe there is any way to configure a device for listen-only with VISA. You will have to use the NI-488.2 functions.

Can you either point me to a document or describe the basic steps to configure the board to act in "listen-only" mode.  I have a PCMCI-GPIB card that I would like to use a GPIB pseudo analyzer, and don't have much experience with  GPIB   🙂  Thanks if advance!

Hello,
I believe the documentation you are looking can be found in our knowledgebase.
However listening on a GPIB bus can only be performed by GPIB+ devices.
There are two versions of your PCMCIA GPIB one thats a GPIB+ device and one thats not.
You can tell with device you have by looking at your device, (see documentation).
This was a very old forum post next time you may want to open your own post and reference the old one.
I hope this helps.
