Using NI-845x in Visual Basic 6

Hello,

I use many different NI devices with my application, which uses Visual Studio VB6 programming environment.  I have a new product that requires SPI communication.  I  added the NI-845x and related software to my application.  I didn't notice any example API code for VB6.   Is there any VB6 example code available for this device.   If not, how can I communicate SPI using the VB6 programming environment.   Is there a DLL I can reference?  Is there a API component for VB?  If so, what is it called?  I notice example C code.   Would it be easier to convert the C code to VB6?

Hi Dan,

The NI-845x software supports the following development environments:

• LabVIEW 7.1, 8.0, 8.2, and 8.5
• LabWindows™/CVI™ 7.1 (or newer)
• Microsoft Visual C/C++ 6.0

Unfortunately, the NI-845x software does not support the Visual Basic 6 programming environment.  There are C examples, so you may try converting the code.  You may create a Product Suggestion for adding Visual Basic support for the NI-845x software.  Good luck with your application!
