Status et24xx

I have an 2404 controller that I am contolling using the ET24xx driver downloaded from LabVIEW.
I can't seem to change the status from LabVIEW, meaning I can't put it into run mode. Any ideas?

Have you tried running the examples that come with the instrument driver?  You you are having difficulty establishing communication, you should make sure that your serial settings on the instrument match those in the driver.  Here is a post referencing the wire mode configuration needed for the instrument to function properly:

My port is setup fine. I can talk to the controller. I can change the configuration and the settings but I can't tell the controller to run the program. I can't use Set Program Status.vi it spits out an unknown error.

Hi Audra,
What error are you getting?  Do you have an error number?  Also, make sure you have the NI-VISA drivers installed as they are required for this driver.

Let us know if you are still having trouble!

Error -1074001419 occurred at ET24XX Utility MODBUS RTU Receive Message.vi->ET24XX Utility Write To Register.vi->ET24XX Set Control Output Mode.vi
This error code is undefined. No one has provided a description for this code, or you might have wired a number that is not an error code to the error code input.

This is a error explained. I can't figure out if I am writing to the wrong register or if the register is just not reconized. I have the manufactures register #s so I should be writing to the right one.

Just a thought.  Do you have any digital inputs wired for running a program?  Hard-wired inputs take precedence over comms commands.

Audra,

That is an interesting error code.  Would you be able to go into the block diagram of your program and debug (using highlight execution and breakpoints) exactly where this error is being generated?  It would be interesting to see where this number is coming from.  Also, is this occurring in an example program or your own custom VI?  Finally, do you have multiple programs talking with the instrument or is this the only one?  Cheers.

Hey,

I have the same problem, but only when I try to set  segment parameter; I get the same error only when I want to set the "dwell" parameter to an optional duration-time. All other paramters works without problems.

Have anybody an idea?

I never got the dwell time to work either so I just used the programming to control that.

Thanks for your answer.

The problem is that I have to start measurment in the period of holding up the temprature by the controller. So it is very necessary that the setpoint remains constant for a period and that the controller manage this. In this period of constant temprature I need to read out Data from an electrometer every 100 ms . Maybe it will take to much processing time if I will do it by programming.
