Dear community,
I would like to ask some help.
Our oxford Kelvinox dilfridge uses an intelligent gas handling (IGH) system controlled remotely on a computer that runs Labview 6.1. It is connected through RS232 and then a RS-232 to USB converter to COM4 on the lab computer. One of my labmates accidentally pressed the local/remote button on the IGH and it is set to local control instead. Switching back to remote control did not solve the issue. I have tried power cycling the IGH but it is now locked in local. From my searches online it seems like that this would be a serial connection and therefore would not require a GPIB setup, but when I rerun the oxford IGH initialize and setup scripts the connection is still not established. I have never used labview before so I am having great trouble trying to reestablish the connection. Attached is a copy of the screen when we just found out IGH was disconnected.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply! I unplugged and plugged the USB port connected to the pc and com port 4-7 popped up. I was somehow able to change from port 4 to port 5, but could not change the port to 6 or 7 or back to 4. Every time I try setting a different com port in the IGHUpdateSetup.vi, IGH Setup window, after running the port resets back to 5. Setting the com port to say 6 in IGHInitialize.vi will still result in error message of rs232 timing out with port 5. There is probably something very dumb that I am missing here, and once again thanks for the reply!
