Query Port for USB 2.0

Hello,

I have a host Application written in LabVIEW and VISA that communicates with a device that requires USB 2.0 connectivity. I would like to add to the application a test that tests the USB port that the device is connected through to see if it is a USB 2.0 port. This way I can alert the user and stop communication before something goes horribly wrong. I have checked various VISA resource properties but could not find a definitive difference between USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 that I could check for. Perhaps there is some kind of other test I could run? I dunno. Any thoughts???

Thanks In Advance,
Glen

Hello Glen,
I do not know of a way for VISA to return this information, so I did some more external searching.  I can find no programmatic ways to return this information.  The best information I could find was to look in device manager manually and look for the USB hub.  If it is listed as an "enhanced" selection then it is USB 2.0.  This would be a good question to ask the OS manufacturer to see if the OS can be queried for this information.

If you find a way to do this, please post back and let us know.
