Hello,
i installed a GPIB-ENET/1000 device for my measurement equipment to use it viw Ethernet.
When i try to communicate with the devices via VISA i get an error (Hex 0xBFFF0011). Communication with the "NI-488.2 Communicator" Software works with no problem.
The Troubleshooting Utility says there are two errors:
- Software (NI-488.2)
- GPIB0 (GPIB-ENET/1000)
I followed the instructions in the troubleshooting utility (reinstallation etc.) but the errors are still there.
Any suggestions for it?
Thanks
Stefan

Hi Stefan,
thanks for contacting National Instruments.
Which Version of NI-VISA and NI-488 are you using?
Does the communication over MAX works?

Please be sure that your firewall isn't blocking your communication.

When you checked these points and get still the error. Please post your VI and a screenshot of the error message.
Please let me know about the results.

I deactivated the firewall and made a screenshot.
I'm using the latest versions of Visa and NI-488 (5.3 and 3.3.1)
"Communicate with Intrument" works.
"Open Visa Test Panel" produces the error.

Hi Stefan,
I could create the same behavior on my system.
Have you tried to open VISA Testpanel from another computer in the same network?
Can you communicate with a LabVIEW VISA Example to this Instruments?
In my case the passport for "NIVi488.dll -- NI-VISA Passport for GPIB" was not enabled.
You find this setting in MAX under Tools>> VISA>> VISA Option >> General Settings >> Passports.
Is it enabled on your system? Please disable it, restart your system, enable it again and restart MAX.
Try now to Open VISA test panel.
I also started on time VISA Server. You can do that in MAX>> Software>> NI-VISA>> "NIVisaServer.exe starten.
But actually I think this didn't solve the issue. But please try it when the steps before didn't help you.
Please let me know if these steps helped you.

Any updates now? Does this issue solved? We met the same problem, and want to know how to fix it.

It seems to be a driver or windows problem because i found out it is pc-specific.
I installed Visa on my laptop and it works fine.
My pc is running Windows XP and my laptop is running Windows 7.
So my advice is to try it on a different computer and/or a different OS.
