PXI-4071 Voltage and Current Terminals connected together

Hi to all,

I'm in a situation where I have to measure both current and voltage in a single pin like in the attached file

Does any one has done anything like that?

That figure does not make sense, since current is typically measured in series. However, if your input measuring voltage is has high input impedance, then you can calculate current through the 10K resisitor using Ohms law. E=IR thus I=E/10,000.

Hi

Thanks for your answer

Yes, At first glance seem that it doesn't make sense,

but, for example, if you want to measure the current drawn by a microcontroller pin, here represented by the 1M resistor, then you can connect the Ammeter in series to ground and measure it.

This is something that I have tryied already and it works, but I jus want it to post to this forum, just in case I'm missing somehing.

Regards
