PC seeing USB 6008 device as 6xxx firmware loader

Hi,

I am having terrible difficulty getting a PC to install the correct drivers for my NI USB 6008 DAQ device.

The PC detects the hardware as new hardware but then trys to install 6xxx firmware loader rather than the DAQ software. Therefore I cannot get the DAQ device to work.

I have DAQmx 8.0 installed on the PC in question.

The crazy thing is that when I conect the device to another PC with DAQmx installed the gardware is detected and configure by the DAQ software without any problem.  I am very confused and hope somebody can help.

Hi Ash,

I have seen this issue before. Below are some links with some steps that show how to go about being able to tell your USB 6008 which firmware you want to load onto it. You will need a version of DAQmx, and DAQmx Base for the steps to work. It is up to you if you get the latest version of the DAQmx drivers, which I believe is at 8.6.1 now.
