No Communication with Serial Port

Hello,

This is the first time I post on this forum so I hope I am in the right place 🙂

I am trying to control a XY stage (Manufacturer: Prior Model: Proscan II) for a microscope  through a serial port with Labview.

I did control the XY stage with Hyperterminal and did everything I wanted to so the next step is to control it through Labview.

I used the vi 'Basic Read and write Serial.vi' and set up all the parameters (9600 Baud, 8Bits, no parity, no flow control,...) as in the hyperterminal.
The controller seems to receive the signal (LED Tx blinking on its front panel) but the XY stage doesnt move at all.
I set up the string as '\ Codes Display' as I read on the other posts.
I tried normal cables and null modem cable, change computers,....

I tested my port with the VI allowing the communication between 2 ports and I receive what I am sending so It seems OK again.

But finally, the stage doesnt move at all.

So at this point, I ran out of idea and need your help 🙂 Any idea ??

Thank you in advance,

Maxime.

If it worked in Hyperterminal, then there was no need to swap cables.

What was the exact string that you sent in Hyperterminal and what was the exact string you sent in LabVIEW? In LabVIEW, did you include a \r\n at the end of the command?

No actually,  I called NI and they said that I have to add \r at the end of the string I send. And it works... FInally...

Thank you
