Ni spy is slow and it does not react to my scroll mouse

Hi,

I have been forced to use the "new" NI spy.
NI Spy Version 2.4 Copyright (c) 1997-2006.

I can not scroll with my mouse any more, which is very handy is you need to examen 12833 lines.
also the starting and reading of the information file is slow, compaired to the older versions.

The help index is useless, I can not make the help window bigger so reading becomes easier.
also it would be nice is the text only changed when I click something so I can scroll the text.

also scrolling with the key down is a drama. go to the last line press key down.. then I am on the top of the window. Smiley Sad
This is not nice if you are checking some lines. makes me wonder, did you test the application in real life situations?

anyone have a solution besides restoring the older version.?

cheers,

jewe

btw: maybe the person who made the new logo should have also invested more time in upgrading the interface. feels like a win 3.11 application.
btw(2): I do not want to be to negative about is, have a nice holiday

Hello,

I have tested the issues you have noticed with v2.4 of NI-SPY and below my findings are listed:

As for the performance I did not noticed a lot of difference comparing to the older versions. I think this hihgly depends on the system you are using.

The scrolling issue I could reproduce. I can imagine that when you have to analyze a lot of lines this can be very handy. Therefore I will report this one to our R&D department to be fixed in future versions. As a work around you could click on the arrows of the scrollbar and hold down the mouse key and you will scroll trough the lines. It is not fast and defenitly not the same as scrolling with the wheel but thats all for the moment.

About the Help Index. Which help index are you refering to? I tried the Help to Function  and the Help Topics but both windows can be maximized. The Context Help Window Automatically rezises when the text does not fit in the Window. This one I als could rezie manualy.

When I highlight the last line and click the arrow down button I stay at the last line so that is something I cannot reproduce either.

If you have any moe findings or comments please let me know.
