NI488-2 2.40 installation error - "??? 1324.'GPIB ????????..."

During the installation of the driver for NI488-2, I get an error message that has broken words that looks something like below:

"??? 1324.'GPIB ?????????????????" (lots of question marks)

I tried looking at the links below:

I have,

OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional (Japanese) SP2

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo

Could it some other kind of registry issue? If only the error message would be displayed correctly...

Hello jeemuzu,

Since you have a Japanese OS, you might want to try installing the Japanese version.

The error could be the result of  that and it's also a newer version (2.4 to 2.6).
