NI Spy Equivalent with Automation Capabilities

I'm looking for a version of NI-Spy (or some equivalent program) with programming Automation capabilities. The program I need it for will be running in a remote location from the developer, and The NI-Spy data would be useful in case of Problems. The reason I want Automation is so the GPIB Command Capturing will be automatically started as opposed to manually.

NI-Spy can be started in a mode such that it starts capturing when it is launched. Just go to the options menu and select "Start NI Spy with capture on". I am not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for, but it may be a reasonable start.

That would be perfect actually, however the version I'm using (1.1) doesn't appear to have that option. How do I upgrade?

It should be bundled in the latest version of NI-488.2. You should find it on ni.com.

I hope you have the latest GPIB driver available from http://www.ni.com/support/gpib/versions.htm. If you don't, follow the steps from www.ni.com/support/install this will also install the latest MAX.
