NI MAX remote control thru Internet WAN

I have Siglent power supply SPD1305X which works fine with LAN control remotely by using a laptop with the NI_VISA based EasyPowerX software. However, I could not make it work by using the same laptop with the same EasyPowerX software. I had my port forwarding done correctly in my router with the public ip address and the port since I got it confirmed by using port forwarding tester (yougetsignal.com) and got it double confirmed by using PowerShell. I tried to use the NI MAX to send SCIP commands in the same laptop and failed also. Anybody has any suggestions or that SPD1305X will not work for WAN internet access at all?

As long as your network is properly setup, all your network paths become transparent to the end application. If it did not work, that means, your network routings may not be transparent.

Thank you for response. Now I am convinced that if it works in LAN and then it should work in WAN as long as my routing network is set transparent. Do you have any links or document how to set transparency correctly in NI-MAX in order to use SCIP commands, provided my ISP is transparent in their service?

This is not something an application can influence. It has to do with the routing setup in your OS network settings. Basically NI Max simply tries to open a connection to the specified address and the routing in the OS will determine what path it will use. Of course when your device is connected through your Wireless adapter it will have a different IP address than when it is connected through a wired connection. If not you would have to explain in much more detail how your network setup actually is. It for sure has something to do with this, not some magic setting in NI Max that you could change.
