Hi,
I need to automate a coffee roasting machine. The machine is GAS heated and it has three motors used for rotating the drum, mixing the coffee, and for cooling. Would you please recommend to me what PLC, Relays, Sensors are more suitable for my purpose? Also, since the machine has a peephole that shows the coffee while roasting i would like to install a photosensor that can dedetct a predefined color and trigers the end of roasting.

I would look in the direction of a small compact Fieldpoint controller and the needed cFP modules for relais and one mixed? for temperature sensor(s) and analog/dig in for your light/color sensor.

For your color sensor I  would not expect a simple phototransistor will do the job. Look for a teachable colorsensor (I worked with one from Keyence, not for coffee )
