LynxOS requirements for GPIB ENET100

Our program's software engineers are developing real time applications under LynxOS 4.0. We have a requirement to communicate with and control GPIB based test equipment over an Ethernet link. Our goal is to use the NI GPIB-ENET/100 device for the Ethernet to GPIB conversion.

Does National Instruments provide driver support for the GPIB-ENET/100 operating under the LinxOS environment? If not, is interface and technical documentation available for our SE's to develop the application?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,

The GPIB-ENET/100 uses the NI-488.2 driver.  This driver is available for a variety of operating systems, inlcuding several Linux distributions.  Here is the link to the download page for the Linux 488.2 driver where you can find additional information regarding using this driver in a Linux environment.  I hope this information helps.

Hi Jim,

I apologize, I mis-read your post.  Unfortunately, we do not currently support the LynxOS operating system.  We do have Unix 488.2 based drivers, but I'm not sure how useful they will be to your application.  I would recommend you make a product suggestion, while I can't guarantee your suggestion will be implemented, we do take product suggestions seriously.  Sorry for the confusion.
