Labview Signal Express support for Keithley 2400 Source Meter

Hi,

I have a Keithley 2400 Source Meter that is interfaced using a serial connection. I am running Labview SignalExpress 2.0. I was wondering if that equipment is supported by SignalExpress? I know it is supported by Labview 7+, so I downloaded the IVI driver (for KE2400 from NI Drivers) and tried installing it to SignalExpress but I could not find the /instr.lib directory in root of National Instruments dir to dump the drivers in. Is there any other way to interface SignalExpress with KE2400? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Reza,

      Only the LabVIEW Plug and Play instrument driver is officially supported by National Instruments.  If the instrument driver from the Keithley website is IVI-Compliant, you should be able to call it from the IviDmm Class driver.  When you run the Keithley installer, does it seem to work fine?  Can you please post a screenshot of your expanded IVI section in MAX?  And also a screenshot of the software module page for the 2400 IVI driver in MAX?

If an instrument has an installer, you don't need to manually put files in instr.lib.

You might be best served by using the LabVIEW Plug and Play instrument driver since it is officially supported by National Instruments.  After you have placed the files in instr.lib, and have restarted LabVIEW, there should be a 2400 pallet under the instrument driver pallet.

If you run into any problems, here is a great document to help you troubleshoot them.

Hi NathanT,

I did run the instrument installer before but MAX did not pick up the driver KE2400_32.dll but after seeing your email I decided to reinstall the IVI driver and now it seems to work! I don't understand what was wrong the first time. I can see and use the KE2400 as a IVI DMM in SignalExpress. Thanks for your help

Hi, I'm having a similar issue (7 years later). I've attached a screen shot of my MAX IVI config. 

I'm trying to use my keithley 2400 in Test stand but even after install the IVI drivers and required components, It doesn't come up as a option in test stand. 

I also just realized that I'm using windows 7 32 bit and labview 13 and the keithley IVI software only supports up to XP. Is there anyway around this?
