Is it possible to generate 10V 20 ma signal?

Hello,

I have a NI PCI 6259 and a NI BNC-2110 box.

I would like to generate a voltage of 10V and 20ma in order to activate a conductor in one of my experiments and close the circuit.

is this possible with my current setup?

thanks

Hi kramerfrog!

The PCI card that you currently have is only capable of outputting a 5V 24mA through the Digital output and it is capable to output 10V 5mA through the Analogue Output. Since the power you require is too close to the cards limit, I would suggest that you use one of this signals to control a secondary power stage.

Kind Regards

I used TTL (5V) control signal from a 24 bit DIO card to drive a common collector circuit with NPN transistors to use to get to

28VDC up to 0.125mA for RF Coaxial latching switch control or up the drive voltage or current to higher levels than TTL can

fan out (2-20mA) and can get to any voltage or current level I desire. I did also use a OptoIsolator to Isolate the control

card/computer from the higher drive levels in case of damage to the transistor, so the damage doesn't propagate back to

the control device or computer.
