I can't communicate with SR 245

Though I read your guys's message, I still have trouble communicating with SR 245 by using NI-488.2  GPIB. It allows me to write command, but commands return EABO. When I write command to SR 245, I saw activity light flashing, when I read it, it returns EABO no matter what types of commands I sent.

My SR 245 was produced before 1990, so I placed a 270 pF's capacitor between 10 and 17 on the GPIB bus driver (part number 75161).
After I did this, I still can't communicate with SR 245.

I used downloaded drivers from NI websites. I tried using sr245.vi and sr 245 example.vi, I couldn't see any improvement.

Any suggestion?

Thanks.

Hi LL,

Have you tried putting a delay before your reads? It could be that the instrument needs more time to process the request before responding.  Also, are you able to read from the instrument using Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) ? Have you tried communicating with the instrument using VISA? You could try and see what the results are. I hope this is helpful. Good luck! Thanks!
