How to use MKS 647B MFC in labview

Hi,
Can someone please help me out for using labview to get the data and switch on/off MFCs in MKS 647B mass flow controller? Any kind of help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi,

It seems that there is a driver for MKS MFC's at this link. This driver is not NI certified which means it hasn't been tested by us. I also noticed that it was created in LabVIEW 5.1. Since this VI was created by the manufacturer you could contact them and ask them if they have working versions in newer Versions of LabVIEW. I hope this helps.

Hi,
I have the driver but it is really difficult to know whether MFC is communicating with Labview or not. On the front panel there is no activity as in no sending or receiving messages. Therefore I am not sure that it is the problem of driver or MFC. Can u tell me how can I check that MFC is communicating with Labview or not? It would be of great help if you can suggest something. Really appreciate your help.
Thanks.

Vikrantrai,

It seems that your device is serial. If you have NI-Serial and NI-VISA installed, you can go into Measurement & Automation and launch a VISA test panel on the COM port. Through this you can send your instrument commands to test the communication by going to the Basic I/O tab and using the Read and Write. Also, which version of LabVIEW are you using?
