How to change the interface number when the PC has multiple GPIB I/F?

I installed a PCI-GPIB onto my Vista computer. It was assigned gpib0. It worked perfectly. Then, I connected a USB-GPIB-HS to one of the USB ports. It was recognized as gpib1. It worked perfectly, too. Now, the question is: are there any ways to swap the board number without removing the PCI-GPIB board from the computer? I want to assign gpib0 for the USB-GPIB-HS and gpib1 for the PCI-GPIB.

The GPIB Interface properties in MAX should allow you to change the GPIB interface ID.  That works for me with Windows XP and GPIB drivers V2.5. But I couldn't test that with VISTA.

Markus,

MAX did allow me to change it. Thanks for your help. In Vista, I needed to start MAX with the "Run as admin..." option to be able to change it.

I need to change GPIB1 to GPIB0. There is only one GPIB interface. There is no drop menu to change it. I have administrative rights on the PC.

Joe,

Try going into Properties in MAX.
