Hi,

What instrument have you connected to the PCI GPIB? Are you able to see the GPIB port in MAX?

from the NI spy file attached, it seems like you have some other controller connected on the bus...is this the case?

as voodoo said; check in MAX (Measurement and Automation Explorer).  If you can see your GPIB-PCI card in "Devices and Interfaces" then you have properly installed the GPIB card.  If you can't, check the following

1) Make sure the card is physically installed correctly.  It is common for PCI cards to slip out some while moving the computer.

2) Move the card to another PCI slot- it is not unknown for motherboards to have dead PCI slots.

3) Uninstall/Reinstall GPIB drivers/software

If you can see your GPIB card in MAX, check to make sure that you can "see" the device you have connected.  Try to send it commands over the "Communicate with instrument" prompt.  If you can't see your instrument, do the following

1) Update and Install NI488 protocols as well as DAQ programs

2) Physically check the connection and/or replace the GPIB cable

If you can see your instrument, then the problem is with your LV code.  Good luck.
