GPIB-USB-HS: Spoll function in VEE connection to EG2001CX

Hello all.

Our configuration is:

1. VEE  ver.7.5.

2. GPIB- USB- HS (IEEE 488.2) , MAX ver.2.4  NI.

3. Probe station - Electroglas 2001CX-IEEE 488 .

We are using Spoll function in VEE program. During the connection  to the EG, we wait for the  trigger from it, but instead the program is stuck on the spoll function.  The EG is the old machine - IEEE 488 , with the controller  MC68488.

The question is:

1. Is the configuration shoud work properly?

2. If the answer to 1. is "yes" so- where is the problem, not compatible drivers or wrong programming?

3. Do anybody have some VEE program which allows control the EG2001 ?

Can you try low-level communication with the GPIB device?  If you open MAX and right-click on the device, you should see an option for "Interactive Control."  Try issuing some commands from here and see if you can communicate that way.

Do you have any sample program on how to communicate with electroglas prober 4090u? May I have a copy? Maybe in c++. I don't know why but i'm having a hard time connecting it or even finding it in a host computer.

We do not have any drivers or example code on our website.  I searched our Instrument Driver network (ni.com/idnet), but found nothing for any Electroglas devices.  I recommend contacting the manufacturer for help or a manual on communication.  Good luck!
