GPIB-422CV?

Has anyone in this group used the GPIB-422CV to control a GPIB group of
instruments? I seem to be hung up on the format? Do I still need special
software to format the GPIB command strings? Can't I use anything that will
send/receive strings via the serial port?

Thanks
Ron H.

Hi Ron,

I couldn't find much information on the GPIB-422CV since it is obsolete.  However, I did find one KnowledgeBase that does discuss some dip switch settings.  It also has a link to the GPIB-232CV User Manual which is very similar and should operate much the same as the 422CV.  It discusses setup and operation, which might be a useful guide to using the 422CV.

As far as the software, you should be able to use anything that will communicate via a serial port.  Just make sure you are formatting the commands correctly.  The manual discusses more about the different operations.

Hope this helps!
