Hi all,
Good morning,

For me it is standard quality. On instruments that measure you always have to be critical. Most of them are so good that people forget about calibration and checks for years. But calibration also detects slow changing errors and will pay itself back.
On the other hand. It is costly and sometimes measuring with more instruments and comparing is cheaper especially in iot.

Albert,
Thank you for the reply on IoT sensor.
May I know are there any standards to ensure quality of IoT sensors ?
When measuring temperature with IoT sensor, does ASTM standard E2846 https://www.astm.org/Standards/E2846.htm ensure quality of IoT sensor to have little outliers ?
Please reply. Thank you.

Outliers are not only due to the sensor but also to the environment.
Or even small changes in positioning of a sensor close to a heated region e.g. in an oven you need to measure at more than 1 point to see the effect of the position in the back or close to the front door.
So outliers are always possible, just be sure you calibrate a system, not just a sensor.
