Hello
I am currently trying to connect a PI E-712 controller with an ENET port to a windows 7 computer.
I have an NI GPIB-ENET/1000 converter and a GPIB-USB-HS cable and want to use the ENET end for the controller and the GPIB for contact with the computer, but is this possible? Or does it only work for connecting GPIB-devices to the compute rusing ENET?
I have drivers on my computer, namely the NI-488.2, IMAX can detect the GPIB connection and the cable has a steady amber light on ready. The ENET-converter lights green for power, ready and the ACT/LINK positions but nothing for either of the GPIB talk and listen lamps. When trying to connect, the computer doesn't see the device at all.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Oh sorry to not be clear.
It's a digital piezo controller from the German company Physik Intrumente.

According to your link the instrument has Ethernet, USB, or RS232 interfaces.
The webpage says that they have LabVIEW drivers. I would contact the company first to see whether their driver supprts the Ethernet inteface.
That would be my preference.

Thank you for your adivce.
I'm certain tha the device does support ethernet. The problem is, however, that we can't connect the ethernet to the computer itself. We're not actually using Labview but a program called DMACS, which is why we would like to use GPIB on the computer end.

The NI GPIB-ENET/1000 is not going to work for you. It is a Ethernet to GPIB device. Your instrument does not have a GPIB interface.
I am not familar with DMACS.

Ah ok that is what I feared; I'll have to look into another solution then.
Thank you very much for your time and help.

They also have a DLL driver.
