ils on Windows NT machine after installing Labview 7. Machine did not previously have labview but was running a stand alone VI, now that VI can no longer talk to the GPIB instruments. The new version of LabView also can not comunicate with the instruments. Thanks Brian, I did install the Driver CD and NI-488.2 version was 1,70. It turned out that the board simply wasn't being recognized by the computer. There were two problems. First of all I had added a new P&P DAQ board and by chance the port it plugged into had the same IRQ (11) as the GPIB board default. That wasn't actually what caused he failure though, the other half was that LV7 apparently reconfigured the GPIB software configuration to use IRQ11 but the board was not P&P and the IRQ had been set by jumpers on the board to 15. So the real problem was that LV7 changed the GPIB software settings back to factory defaults.
Thanks for your help.
