ActiveX Issues

Hi,

I have a Symbol scanner (MS-804FZY) which comes with an ActiveX control.  I have never used ActiveX with LabVIEW so I am having some trouble.

I have it started but the first method call (ConnectComPort) should take two parameters (baud_rate and com_port) and it does not make room for any.

When I get to the next method (ssiSWTriggerPull) which should turn on the scanner, I get a catastrophic failure.

I understand that it would be difficult to help me without knowing the system or the control that I am using.  So whatever help I get would be appreciated.

P.S. I thought 'catastrophic' referred to the end of the world.  I guess it encompasses bad programmers now also.

Without having the ActiveX control it's difficult but have you right clicked on the propery node and changed it to 'write'? Just like LabVIEW property node, you can write or read them and the image shows it as being read.
