35660A -Command requires GPIB Controller to be Controller in Charge

Hello
 I am trying  to read and writeHP 35660A siganl Analyzer through a GPIB.

This same VI worked with another signal analyzer , but with this one it shows 2 error msgs.. see atchements.

any ideas?

If the program works with another 35660A, then I would suggest you check to see if the firmware on both models are the same.

Hey Dennis

 

 I think the GPIB interface of this device is defect. Cos i tried to connect another signal analyzer with the same cable and its been recognized by the Measurement and automation.

 

 

So am planning to change to the other analyzer.

Hi

Certain function resquies that GPIB board to be the CIC (Controller In Charge). That could be your issue. Look at the following kb
