PXI 5162 Digitizer memory allocation

Dear community members,

I got a question regarding how high-speed digitizers allocate onboard memory. Any clarification or help is very much appreciated!

On 5162 digitizer user manual, about memory allocation: 

Allocated onboard memory per record: [(Record length + 448 samples) × 2 bytes/sample], rounded up to an integer multiple of 128 bytes (minimum 512 bytes)

I am a bit confused about minimum 512 bytes in this case.

Even if record length = 1, then the allocated memory would be (1+488 samples) × 2 bytes/sample = 978 bytes, which is already larger than 512 bytes.

So it will never fall below 512 bytes

Could anyone clarify this? Or maybe this is a typo?
