Hi,
I am starting a project on sbRIO-9607 that will use CAN networking intensively.
I know that I could used Embedded CAN for RIO on RT but to relieve the processor I would like to support the CAN communication in FPGA. Just using 9607 without mezzanine board as I only need one CAN port.
Simple question: is it possible to program CAN on FPGA (as in cRIO) and (if positive) how to configure CLIP for this purpose?
Every advice is welcome

Hi,
Unfortunately there isn't any FPGA support for CAN0. The only supported mechanism for accessing that port is through the driver on RT. However, there may be some alternate options for you. If you used a 1-slot (Part Number 785890-01) or 2-slot (Part Number 783883-01) C Series RMC board you'd be able to connect the board-only versions of the NI-9853 or NI-9852. These modules don't rely on the Embedded CAN for RIO driver and can be accessed directly through the FPGA.
Best,

Hi,
How CAN I develop the second CAN through RMC?
yours sincerely
