I am having an issue with a cFP-1804 not showing up in MAX. I am using a Windows Vista machine with MAX 5.0 and the latest Fieldpoint drivers. I am using a tested xover cable and a tested 24V industrial power supply. I have completely removed all anti-virus/firewall software from the machine and have disabled windows firewall. I have a functioning cFP-1808 that I have successfully connected to from the same computer with the same cable & power supply. I have completed the steps outlined here, several times.
I have not yet tried to use serial communications but likely will here shortly once I have the appropriate cable. I have been told by a "non-technical" co-worker that this device was determined broken 18+ months ago, by whom is a question. To verify when the cFP-1804 is booted (either from initial plug in or reset) the status LED lights up green approximately 1/4 sec after power LED, and stays lit. There is no discernible blinking, my cFP-1808 only lights up for a second or less then goes out. I will be placing the cFP-1808 into my system for the meantime, but would like to use the cFP-1804 to save some wasted space. Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks in advance,
Dan

Hi d3b,
It sounds like you've got everything configured correctly since you're able to see your cFP-1808. I do have a couple of followup questions regarding your cFP-1804
-Do you happen to have multiple network cards? (ie wireless, ethernet, etc)
Based on the page 16 of manual, we expect the status LED to stay steadily lit for 3 seconds, then flash steadily. Then, if it's configured correctly, then the STATUS LED will turn off.
In terms of getting it working with serial network, that's a good idea. Please keep us updated.

Hi Che,
Thanks for the reply. For the cFP-1804 the LED stays consistently lit, it never once blinks. I will double check on the cFP-1808 to see if it does blink steadily for 3 seconds following. I am not using a separate network card. It is hooked directly to the computers (laptop) on board network port. I didn't/don't have the chance to play with the serial com yet. But hopefully tomorrow I can give that a shot. Keep you posted.
Thanks again,
Dan
