Temperature measurement with FP Dual Channel Module

We are measuring several environment temperatures through one FP-1600 Ethernet FieldPoint module, Dual Channel PT100 (2 wires) modules and OMEGA RTD-830 (3 wires) sensors. We read ALWAYS an offset values of 7 or 8 degrees (upper) respect the "real" temperatures. By this way, the FieldPoint Explorer no has ability to modify parameters into FP-PT100 modules. What do you think about this problem?. Best Regards,
Eduardo

Hi Puho,

The Dual Channel PT100 modules are only designed for 1 configuration. This configuration is for a 100Ohm, 2 wire RTD with an alpha value of 0.00385. I am not certain about the RTD that you are using but if it is not a 100Ohm RTD, I would expect that your temperature measurements would be off. If you need to measure a RTD that is not a 100Ohm RTD, then I would suggest using a RTD-122 module. This module can read any resistance from an RTD from 0-4000 Ohms.

Hi Mike,
Thank you for your answer. We are using OMEGA RTD-830 3 wire sensor, 100 Ohm and Alpha = 0.00385!..Other possibility is 3-wire Vs 2-wire, but we aren't convinced about that. Do you suggest any additional test?

Eduardo
