First, is your problem that the cable doesn't remain plugged in? Unfortunate the classmate's are prone to this problem, and this is, as far as I know, not a easily replaceable part. You'd have to open the case, remove the RJ45 connector, and replace it. Many teams have broken ports. The cheap plastic clips that hold the ethernet cable in place have broken, and the only solution is replace it. Or you can try to use glue to permanently attach an ethernet cable to the port. I know of a few teams that did that successfully.
If the problem is electrical i.e. no connectivitiy no matter how much you wiggle the cable, then you're out of luck. As far as I know these Classmates are manufacturer discontinued, and probably out of warrenty. Not sure there's much in the way of options.

My team has the same problem with ours. I've been thinking of just replacing it myself since I know a lot about computers.
Does anyone know the Model # of the classmate handed out last year (2009-2010)???
Also to save some time, does anyone know if it is a specific type/model???
Ive worked on the inside of a computer before but, are these ports difficult to replace???
Also your picture isnt showing for me... What was your solution?
Thanks,
Davis

My guess is that he just glued it in. I don't really think you should try and replace the RJ45 connector. It's is most likely soldered in place, and so you'd have to desolder it. The easiest fix is to just glue a male to female connector ethernet cable into place. Or just replace the classmate with another laptop/netbook.
