Hello Everyone

I'm and novice programmer and a mentor on Team 2171.

I got this book from the local library and it has really helped me ALOT:

LabVIEW Graphical Programming (Fourth Edition)

by Gary W. Johnson & Richard Jennings.

McGraw-Hill, ISBN 0-07-145146-3

The first six chapters are applicable to anything -- including robots. Its now much clearer to me how to

build complex programs, and how to break them down into smaller more managable pieces. Just for

fun I'm trying to build a virtual robot with LabVIEW using a state machine and a queued message handler

as the achitecture. Before I read this book, those would have sounded like science fiction terms to me.

Chapter 16 covers LabVIEW FPGA. Have not read it yet, but next time I get stuck working on the state machine

robot, I probably will.

I highly recommend this book if you want to learn more. You can check to see if your local library has it. And if you

happen to find anything else helpful while you're there, please post it.

Regards & best wishes to all the FRC teams,

KHall

Here's the index of the book, in case you need more proof.
