Icon Editor Source Files for LabVIEW 2011

In LabVIEW 2011, we decided to wrap the icon editor into a packed library in order to significantly improve load performance. However, this means that the source files are no longer shipped with LabVIEW and therefore no modifications can be made to the icon editor itself. Additionally, because of the tight integration into LabVIEW, other components might be broken.

The source files, compiled for 2011, are attached. Complete the following steps to get started:

1) Download and unzip the attached file.

2) Copy the content to <LabVIEW 2011>\resources\plugins.

3) Exit LabVIEW.

4) Rename the lv_icon Packed Library. If you plan on deleting it, first create a backup copy.

The lv_icon Project contains the build specification for the icon editor. Once you have made modifications, the build specification must be used to create a new packed library.

WARNING: To avoid linking issues, the original files will be deleted in a post-processing step of the build specification. DO NOT forget to backup the original source files before you execute the icon editor build specification.

The icon editor is not fully functional outside of the packed library. I am working to provide a solution that preserves the data when the icon is modified in different versions of the editor.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
