Difference between a input/output and processing parameter and processing result

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi all,

I am having a hard time telling what the difference is between these two categories. Aren't they functionally the same?

Processing parameter = input to a process.vi override from the engine.

Processing result = output from a process.vi override to the engine.

Thank you, after this and looking at the input, output, and user process override VIs for the various modules it makes sense. Essentially input and output is something you use when you need to communicate with something that NOT on the tagbus already, usually hardware of some kind. Since there are already DCAF modules for FPGA and scan engine the only time I would need to to actually do something there is for something like communication to a particular instrument with its own set of commands or perhaps another type of industrial communications network not covered by existing modules.
