PXI-4139 Program Output Resistance

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi I am trying to use the Pxi-4139 to act as a variable resistive load in my setup. Does anyone know how to program the output resistance. I have the DCPower 16.0 drivers iinstalled and the only options I have to program outputs are voltage and current. Should there be an output resistance option??

Thanks..

Hiya!

There is a VI that comes with NI-DCPower that you can use to set this, or there is also a function for text based code. See the following link:

Thanks,

Do you know where I can find the VI? I have searched everywhere in the NI-DCPower and I can't find any reference to it! Thanks for your help.

Hmmm, I also can't find that VI under Help>Find examples, and now see that the help page is written for Ni-DCPower 15.2. Sorry about that! Looks like this VI might have been removed in the newer 16.0 version.

I tried unistalling the driver and downlaoding the 15.2 version, but still haven't managed to find the VI. For now uou could try dropping a property node in LabVIEW, wire in the niDCPower reference, select source>output resistace and change it to write. I'll continue to look into this.

I don't have a PXIe-4139 to hand but I've tried simulating one. I've found where you can view the Session Properties in Soft Panels but don't think you can set them from here. You might be able to add initial settings in an IVI driver session. I've attached a screenshot of where you would find these, not sure if it will help but worth a try.

Have yuo had any success in  locating the vi? I am unable to get up and running with the labview configuration you mentioned.

I have still not managed to find it, sorry. I'm hoping to speak to a specialist tomorrow and will file a bug report to correct the documentation if the VI is indeed not included.

When I get the chance I'll also have a look in an older version of NI-DC Power to see if the VI is included and if not I can try and mock one up at some point. Did you try modifying the Current/Voltage VI by changing the values on the property nodes?

VI located! It was hidden away in the nidcpower.llb file

I have attached a screenshot of the location plus a copy of the VI just in case

Sorry for the delay, hope this helps you!

Best regards
