sensor connections please !

If we are employing a 3 wire FESTO proximity sensor, what should be the connections?

NOTE: when the complete system was powered, I tried connecting a proximity sensor .

I got two digital inputs active when I connected brown wire to 6, blue wire to 22 and black wire to 1 ;  I got DI 1 and DI 6 active.

How is this possible? Kindly help.
