HSDIO Transmission Line Length

I need to design a board with a specific transmission line length. When using the 6556 and a 1M cable, how can I guarantee the line length? Where should I assume the start of the transmission line is(Card connector, end of cable, end of connector)?

What do you mean you need to guarantee the line length? 

The signal will travel the entire length of the cable, end-to-end.

Answering this question might require taking a step back and giving the full picture to receive a helpful response.

You can’t change the internal length the signal travels, so setting the output as length zero likely makes sense.  Then it’s just a matter of measuring the length you’d like. 

Will you be modifying the cable?  What’s the plan?
