select data .txt

Hello,
I'm having a problem with a txt file. I would like to separate this file into different channels, each channel with the information of each animal (ex.animal 102, animal 103)in order to better evaluate this data. I was thinking of doing a loop or something similar...
Does anyone have any idea? Any help will be greateful.

Thanks a milion,

Hello Núria,

I am not sure I fully understand your request.
To evaluate the data inside the txt file I would first import it into DIAdem, using the Import wizard for instance with the settings you find in the attatched STP file.
After loading the data into DIAdem channels you can use a sorting algorithm to sort after the Animal numer channel- what you get are blocks of data, one block for each animal. Currently they are all in the same channels but you can use datacopy operations to create new channels for each section of your data.

To sort, use the ChnMultipleSort Command of the Analysis module, to copy you can use the DataBlCopy command (or DataAreaCopy if you are using an elder version of DIAdem) in a VBS. Mid that you might have to allocate new channels (depending on your global settings) - in this case use the ChnAlloc command.

Further information about parameters and the usage of the functions can be found in the DIAdem help.

I hope this gives you an idea how to proceed.
